A New Addition
I have decided to add another piece to the divination set.
For a while, during the earliest stages of the collection, there was a stone indicating health/medicine/medical care/healing/your body. It was a rose quartz. But I also had a strawberry quartz in the set and the two looked alike enough to confuse other people and even myself in low light conditions (I have lousy eyesight). Plus the rose quartz wasn’t exactly ideal for the purpose so at some point (during a downsizing phase of the collection) it was removed and never replaced.
I’m thinking its time to have such a signifier in the set again. I’ve been making do pretty well without it. If a health questions comes up, the meanings of the pieces shift accordingly. But sometimes even for general castings its good to have something speaking to health issues in there.
Whilst unpacking some boxes of stuff sent out by my Mom I found my old shrine on a string. On it was a pewter charm of a mortar and pestle. Perfect! Collection Casting June 8
I went for a lovely walk at a local nature reserve with a friend. We walked half way around the small lake then settled down to sit on the dock, give offerings and watch the geese try to con us out of food.
(Honestly folks don’t feed the wildlife and especially don’t feed them white bread!)
Since its rededication I have been dragging my bag of bits around everywhere with me. Its good to go through a bonding period and it also makes sure I don’t fall into a bad habit of just leaving it to collect dust on a book shelf.
After some pleasant conversation and giving the lake a couple of small pieces of rose quartz I decided to bring out my bag. Mostly just on a whim (it felt right) and partly because I’m always looking for an excuse to cast. We got the cloth directionally aligned and laying flat and as I pulled the collection out of the bag I said “Let’s see what the spirits of this place have to say”. Then without much pomp and circumstance (I did tell the bits to not fall off the dock) I cast them.
