Happy Canuck Day!
So my act of patriotism was to attach a mini Canadian flag to my pick truck (which just happens to be red, a fireman used to own it or something, it has a slot for a CB radio and everything)
And then to drive into town to buy Okanagan cider, Alberta beef (for the BBQ) and McCain Superfries.
Kinda lame isn’t it? I’ll think of something better later, right now it’s too hot to think!
Alberta Bound
Dizzy and I did the interview but her instructor wants to grade it before its posted.
I am heading off to Alberta for the Spirit of the West this weekend.
I was going to take lots of great pics of the land (Misty Acres) and blog about different ideas for how the pagan community could put it to good use, but it rainned all weekend! Oh well.
For now, its not the kind of land you could hold large gatherings, but a couple of Covens, or Groves or Kindred, or just a couple of folks its got potential.
So start thinking out side the box and brainstorming while I`m away guys. (FYI, think mountainside, West-Kootenays Boundary) …
Updates
having some computer troubles folks.
I will be back by the weekend with news and updates.
As well as info on Misty Acres and the pagan community.
Dizzywitch and I will be interviewing each other this weekend, so if you have any questions for a hedgewitch and a Greenwitch, please comment here.
And if I accidentally delete a comment you made, I apologize!
Spirit of the West Druid Gathering
I will be attending the Spirit of the West Druid Gathering June 12 – 14 in Alberta, Canada.
I’ll be vending, selling some of my arts and crafts, as well I might enter the Second Annual Spirit of the West Eisteddfod – a Bardic gathering and competition. Entering some of my poetry *yikes*
Get your tickets by the end of the month folks. Hope to see you there!
I rescued a Human Today.
I rescued a Human Today.
Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn’t be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn’t want her to know that I hadn’t been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I don’t want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card I hoped she wouldn’t feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someones life.
She got down on her knees and spoke softly to me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven’t walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.
I do not know who the author is, sorry
