Crones
So apparently I hate Crones.
Because, you know, if I express disgust towards one particular famous Crone and her angry, hate filled, outdated rhetoric. And speak to how I hope that such angry, hate filled and out dated rhetoric might go the way of the dodo bird when she (and people who share her views) passes to the Summerlands some day. Well, then obviously I hate all Crones. In fact I hate the whole generation, and I want them all to die so I can dance delightedly on their graves and then go and build some kind of utopia.
Yep. Totally.
Now of course, those of you who actually know me in real life, and those Crones who know me specifically, are probably laughing your asses off right now. “JUNIPER? Hehehe oh, she’s harmless! She’ll be the first to tell you that she’s a Gemini full of hot air! Hehehe!”
Ironically, just a few days ago I was conversing with a Crone after a ritual celebrating International Women’s Day and she said “It’s strange because you’re so strong and out there and firey online but actually you’re not like that.”
I’m actually pretty cute… Continue reading
I Just Keep Telling Myself
So a couple of transwomen got turned away from a Dianic ritual at PantheaCon. Head on over to the Wild Hunt Blog to find out more. It seems Z. Budapest made a comment on the incident (which she was not at) here’s the quote:
“This struggle has been going since the Women’s Mysteries first appeared. These individuals selfishly never think about the following: if women allow men to be incorporated into Dianic Mysteries,What will women own on their own? Nothing! Again! Transies who attack us only care about themselves. We women need our own culture, our own resourcing, our own traditions. You can tell these are men, They don’t care if women loose the Only tradition reclaimed after much research and practice ,the Dianic Tradition. Men simply want in. its their will. How dare us women not let them in and give away the ONLY spiritual home we have! Men want to worship the Goddess? Why not put in the WORK and create your own trads. The order of ATTIS for example,(dormant since the 4rth century) used to be for trans gendered people, also the castrata, men who castrated themselves to be more like the Goddess. Why are we the ONLY tradition… Continue reading
My Soap Box
The (larger) Pagan Community and the smaller Pagan communities (within a region or city) are like any community or movement. There are great things and not so great things and maybe even a few things that are less than desirable. Whether it is the mountain biking scene, a local Catholic parish, a quilters’ guild, your place of work or your local Pagan community there is always going to be problems and annoyances. Such as gossip, personal conflicts, poor planning of events, even the occasional abusive jerk. The only way to totally avoid such things would be to avoid the human race as a whole.
Just as the Pagan Community attracts people who are free thinking, artistic, interesting, open minded, creative and spiritual; it can also attract the odd drama queen, womanizer or person who believes that they are a reincarnated elf from the planet Zooboo. Every religion and spiritual movement has its crazies and fanatics. Our fringe element might throw paint on a lady for wearing fur, dress like a vampire, create gossip and drama at a ritual, or go to class carrying a Druid staff. Far better than shooting abortion doctors, blowing up buildings and protesting soldier’s funerals, I… Continue reading
Mastery
There is no such thing as an expert Witch.
There is no mastery of the Craft.
The more you learn, the more you see that one mortal Witch can know nothing compared to all there is in this many layered and multi levelled universe.
There is no need to achieve perfection. In fact if there be any sin in Witchcraft it would be just that. For it is impossible.
One should always be learning, experimenting, adjusting and making the appropriate corrections.
We should always be striving to do better, reach higher and go further. However: You never stop.
There will never be a time where you say; “I can learn no more, I can do no better. I have achieved all there is to achieve. I have reached the highest height.”
There is no such thing as an expert Witch.
There is no mastery of the Craft.
One should never claim to be such, never assume that another is such. Nor should one ever accuse another of being such in any manner, but certainly not as an act of spite or nastiness.
In fact such words as expert, guru, master and so forth should not be in our vocabulary at… Continue reading
