  • Wordless Wednesday – Witchy!
  • Consciousness

    I am asleep.

I am asleep and have delved into some deep abyss of dreaming far beyond the physical enclosure that is my body.

I dream and know I am dreaming. I glide through a realm of black and blue, soft and delicate as silk, sheer like fine muslin. I dance in the glory of the dreamscape.

Then, a gradual awareness begins to tug at me. I feel my body calling me back to awakening. The most simple and basic need driving me [...]

  • Repost: Instinct vs Research

This one is on Witchvox this week and is host to a number of typos, I’m not sure how they got there. I must need a proof reader or something. So here is a cleaner version for y’all:
“This is what happens when you dabble! You can’t practice the Craft while you are looking down your nose at it.” ~ The Aunts from Practical Magic
So why do I have to do all this required reading and research? Isn’t that work? Its [...]

  • Oak and Holly

In the deepest and darkest slumber
When the world is plunged in cold and snow
The Earth rests gripped in the heart of Winter
Cloaked in ice and freezing winds that harshly blow
The King who wears the Holly crown
Sits high upon His icy throne

To a Son of Oak and light and mirth
Just as the Sun begins its slow return
    *

    As the Oak babe [...]

  • Fragment

I don’t really have a Book of Shadows, rather I have several notebooks scattered around with bits of this and that. Terribly disorganized I know, but better suited to my personality. Maybe someday, when I am in my grey hairs, I will combine the best pieces. Do something pretty and scrapbook-ish perhaps. For now I will carry on with my many notebooks. Every now and then I find one I thought was lost and flip through it, delighted by the [...]

  • Diaspora

    Although my feet
    Have never walked
    Upon ancestral lands
    And I’ve never heard
    The winds sing a song
    Across the Motherland
    Though I have never
    Laid my own hands
    Upon a standing stone
I will sing the old song
I will honour the old gods
I will learn the old ways
    And make them new again
    For a man or woman
    Who is without roots
    Finds it all too easy
    To cut down another’s tree
    And so I will connect
    With this New World
I will love, I will learn
    This, my dear land
New ways for me to make
    Like forefathers [...]
