I'll be interested to hear how you read!

I'm thinking about creating my own system, but knowing where to start is difficult. It's something I need to actually sit down and plan, and talk to some of my gods about.

Currently, I use playing cards with broad meanings attached to them, and then further 'refine' the message with a pendulum.
This is fine, and works nicely; but I'd like something that I feel I can connect to a little more. Plus, a pendulum can too easily be influenced by my own thoughts.

I'd like to learn more about runes, but my gods are greek and so the system may not work well with them. However, I may begin studying them anyway, because of some other aspects of my practice which seem to be appearing.

I think a system with pebbles and bones would be nice for me, and not too inappropriate either with gods like Hermes around! :)
I'm having brainwaves just writing this out. I want to use pottery shards too!!!

see now i had similar issues with Tarot, which involved much yelling and tearing of hair out, because i had some how set it in my mind that tarot were a fortune telling thing, that read your future, as because i am a firm believer, that you make your own future there was many disagreements between tarot and me.. *laughs*.. then a friend gifted me with the medicine deck that has pictures of animals and has a obvious focus of the here and now and helping you think around corners, we got on well me and that deck, we still do. it helped that i was a huge.. HUGE fan of david attenborough!!

then a could of years back i happened across the duridcraft deck, and went to a druid camp where philip carr gomm was doing a work shop, around how to use tarot as a divination tool that did not involve fortune telling.. it also helped that the art work on the cards spoke to me, so now i have a much more comfortable relationship with tarot, well the druidcraft deck *grins*.

but i have to say i am quite drawn to your bag of bones and sticks, even from the pictures they zing with potential and power, just nom. kinda like you want to roll around in them which is a similar feeling i now get with my tarot.. so very very cool!

*beams*

i might of had a point.. but i lost it.. err.. *laughs*
